From the 2012 Gravenstein Apple Fair cooking demonstrations. This classic fritter recipe was a HUGE hit at the fair.
Gravenstein Apple Fritters with Wildflower Honey
Chef Brandon Guenther, Rocker Oysterfeller's
2 cups all purpose flour
½ cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
4 eggs
1 cup milk
5 Gravenstein apples, julienned
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk and eggs. Add julienne apples and mix well.
Drop batter from tablespoon into deep fryer preheated to 350°F. Fry until golden brown and set inside, turning once.
Serve hot with honey, toasted almonds and powdered sugar.
